Welcome to Murder under the Microscope (MuM).

In this project, students are presented with a mystery, an eco-crime somewhere in Australia. Working as an investigation team, students study the issues and crime sites, research the victims and villains and use the clues provided by Catchment Headquarters (Catchment HQ) to try to solve the mystery.

Clues are revealed over a five week period. Once the final clue has been given, teams have a 24 hour window to make their accusation.

Members of the first team to name the:

• villain (the cause)
• victim (the effect) and
• crime site (the place)

become EcoSleuths of the Year.

But...

Making an accusation is only one part of the game.

The highest honour goes to the team that devises the best catchment management plan.

These investigators are the ultimate winners and become EcoPlanners of the Year.
